HISTORY:
In the wake of the 'beach' vehicle known as 'Spiaggine' that were very much in vogue from the late 1950s to the late 1960s, the concept of which was created by Gianni Agnelli when he commissioned Boano to make a special Fiat 500 for use in the summer, Lancia thought of promoting itself by creating this 'en plain air' vehicle using not a simple car, but a mezz mezz used also as a minibus, the Lancia Superjolly.
Lancia entrusted the Ruggeri coach-builder with the production of this vehicle in very few units (from the information gathered by the Lancia Registro, it seems that only four or five were built) and only for internal Lancia use, so much so that today only three are known to have survived.
As mentioned, this vehicle was used for promotional purposes. It can be seen in photos and videos of the time at Monte Carlo, no doubt on the occasion of the F1 GPs where it parades the winners for two consecutive years: Graham Hill (1965) and Jackie Stewart (1966).
It was also a vehicle used by Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco. As it can be seen from the photographic and video evidence of the time, these vehicles were used with test plates.
The Lancia Superjolly was also used as a vehicle for visits by important dignitaries, in fact there are reports that it had the honour of being used by no less than two Popes: the first time by Paul VI and later by John Paul II.
There is photographic documentation of John Paul II's visit and it is noted that the Pope was accompanied in the Lancia Superjolly by Gianni Agnelli.



OUR CAR:

Our Lancia Superjolly was bought by Ing. Chiara, and from him it passed into the hands of a couple of Piedmontese dealers and collectors.
It was rediscovered and purchased in 2019 by an enthusiast who wanted to have it restored.
The restoration was total, the bodywork was completely overhauled, the braking system was replaced, the engine opened and rebuilt and all new electrics were fitted.
The restoration lasted a couple of years and we bought it at the end of the restoration.
Now it has also the Registro Lancia certification, with its badge fitted perfect on the dashboard.

An amazing vehicle for any serious collector with an amazing history behind it.

LA NOSTRA AUTO:

La nostra Lancia Superjolly è stata acquistata dall'Ing. Chiara, e da lui passò nelle mani di una coppia di commercianti e collezionisti piemontesi.

È stata riscoperta e acquistata nel 2019 da un appassionato che voleva farla restaurare.

Il restauro è stato totale, la carrozzeria è stata completamente revisionata, l'impianto frenante è stato sostituito, il motore è stato aperto e ricostruito ed è stato montato tutto l'impianto elettrico nuovo.

Il restauro è durato un paio d'anni dopodiché è stata acquistata da noi.

Dispone anche di certificazione del Registro Lancia, con il suo badge perfettamente inserito sul cruscotto.

Un veicolo straordinario per qualsiasi collezionista serio con una storia straordinaria alle spalle.
