HISTORY:

In 1938, the Ollearo factory combined its motorcycle production with the transformation of the Fiat 500 “Topolino” cars into vans.
While the front part of the bodywork remains the original Fiat one, the vehicles are lengthened at the rear in the frame by approximately 2 m. and a second rear axle with leaf springs and rocker arm is applied.
The modification allows the installation of 2x1.20 m boxes with a capacity of 1000kg .
The reduction on the gearbox to support the new loads is obtained by fixing a reducer with only two gears with epicyclic teeth directly at the head of the differential bridge which allows a full load speed of 56 km per hour.
The braking system is also adapted and made integral on the six wheels.
After the war, starting from 1946, the Fiat 1100 ELR cars were also transformed into 3-axle vans with a capacity of 2000kg.
In 1952 the company ceased the construction of motor vehicles: it only took care of spare parts and repairs, dedicating itself to the construction of speed reducers for Fiat 1600 and 1100 gearboxes and to the modifications of chassis, transforming them into electric vehicles for industrial use. 

OUR CAR:

Started its life as a 500 C Giardiniera in 1951 has undergone a conversion from Ollearo to a 6 wheeler truck our Topolino.Later barn found as a Vespa service truck in the piedemont countryside.  In 2021 the car has benefitted from a nut and bolt restoration  and brought back to the original specifiation finished in green colour with wooden panels for the loading bay and a lovely spare wheel compartment under the loading bay,the meccanical side has received the same level of attention with full engine rebuilt with new internals suspension and gerabox refurbrishment as well as the rear differential, the cabin has been also retrimed with tan leather to compliment the body colour  .

STORIA:

Nel 1938 la Fabbrica Ollearo affianca alla produzione motociclistica la trasformazione delle vetture Fiat 500 “Topolino” in furgoncino.
Mentre la parte anteriore della carrozzeria rimane quella originale della Fiat, i veicoli vengono allungati posteriormente nel telaio di circa 2 mt. e viene applicato un secondo asse posteriore con balestre e bilanciere.
La modifica consente l’installazione di cassoni di 2×1,20 mt con una portata di 10 quintali.
La riduzione sul cambio per supportare i nuovi carichi si ottiene fissando direttamente in testa al ponte differenziale un riduttore con soli due ingranaggi con dentatura epicicloidale che permette una velocità a pieno carico di 56 Km orari.
L’impianto frenante viene anch’esso adeguato e reso integrale sulle sei ruote.
Nel dopoguerra , a partire dal 1946 si trasformano con il medesimo criterio anche le vetture Fiat 1100 ELR in furgoni a 3 assi con portata di 20 quintali.
Nel 1952 la ditta cessa la costruzione di motoveicoli: cura solo più i ricambi e le riparazioni, si dedica alla costruzione di riduttori di velocità per cambi Fiat 1600 e 1100 e alle modifiche di autotelai trasformandoli in veicoli elettrici per uso industriale.

LA NOSTRA MACCHINA:
Nata come una  Giardiniera 500 C nel 1951 e trasformata da Ollearo in un camion a 6 ruote. Il nostro Topolino successivamente ritrovato in un fienile come camion di servizio Vespa nella campagna piemontese. Nel 2021 l'auto ha beneficiato di un restauro con nut and bolt che l'ha riportata alle specifiche originali, rifinita in colore verde con pannelli in legno per il vano di carico ed un bellissimo scompartimento per la ruota di scorta sotto il vano di carico, la parte meccanica ha ricevuto lo stesso livello di cura. Molta attenzione è stata dedicata sul motore completamente rifatto, nuove sospensioni nuove e cambio revisionato nonché differenziale posteriore, anche la cabina è stata rifinita con pelle marrone chiaro per abbinarsi al colore della carrozzeria.
