It is rare to find cars like this one in the market.
This Giulietta Sprint, chassis number 00881, was manufactured on September 24, 1955 and was sold to its first owner Manetti Renato di Pirro on October 6, 1955 resident of Florence.
According to the Official Registry of the Automobile Club D’ Italia (copy is available), this Giulietta Sprint was sold:
On February 28, 2004 car was bought by the present owner. The car had never left Italy and it was always under Italian ownership.
The car has been registered with FIVA (Identity Card is available) and the CSAI (Commissioner Sportive Automobilistica Italiana) (Identity Card is available), including FIA ( a passport for Historic Regularity Run is available).
The car has been exceptionally maintained by its previous owners who appeared to have treated this Giulietta with extra care, hence, the good condition of the car today. This Giulietta participated also in the 50 years Giulietta ceremonies in Milan in 2005 and was an exhibition car at the Duomo Piazza during the celebrations of Alfa Romeo.
The car retains all original mechanical parts and is a matching number car. The engine number is 00961 which match with the chassis number *00881*. The Bertone chassis number which is visible in the front engine compartment, is *65874*.
The car has benefited from an engine rebuild in late 2015 by Alfa engineer’s experts who had been servicing back in the 1960’s Giuliettas and therefore, they had experience about the needs of this car. All spare parts for the engine’s overhaul have been purchased by an inventory of original parts. The car retains all original features, including the light weight bonnet and all cosmetics all around.
The car’s condition regarding its chassis and all major structural components (i.e. floor pans inside and outside), is in an excellent condition. There has never been any repair of the floor pans due to corrosion whatsoever. Only standard maintenance has been carried out to preserve the original condition of the car.
The present owner has gone through a detailed maintenance in 2015 in order to maintain the car’s characteristics and specifications. The interior has been made again using original fabrics for the seat cover, carpets and ceiling. All materials are genuine and resemble accurately the original status of the car. The engine bay has been preserved in its original condition on purpose to show the age of the car whereas all the parts are the original ones. The engine’s originality is obvious prima facie (even the aluminum fan is still attached). This Giulietta is very transparent and is sold “as is” a very true condition and an honest car. Counting already 61 years it has accumulated over the decades quite a heritage.
