HISTORY:
The Introzzi story started as family operation building farm wagons and carrieges in 1890 quickly grew as a very reputable coach-builder.
After the WWI Giuseppe Introzzi part ways from the purely artisan approach of his father to found Officine Introzzi.
He started fitting special vehicles such as ambulances, hearses and all kinds of private projects.
In 1980 Officine Introzzi launched a series of luxury car fitting, called “Villa d’Este”, which began with the Fiat Ritmo followed by the famous Panda.
However, the armoured car business was the main focus and Introzzi established itself as one of Italy's leading specialists, securing major orders for cars such as the Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman for Chilean President Augusto Pinochet, the Lancia Thema for Italian Prime Minister Bettino Craxi and, above all, two Mercedes-Benz G-Class "popemobiles" for John Paul II.
Also a very famous project commissioned to the Offcicine Introzzi was the creation of the FIAT 130 Family version the design is the work of the Centro Stile Fiat and originates from a precise request of the Agnelli family.
The company was liquidated in 1995, shortly after the death of its founder, who passed away the previous year.”
